The 2020 Mercyme Global Foundation — Heroism Award-winning artist disclosed to this medium that he is currently working towards releasing his first album comprising Dancehall songs, Afrobeat, Gospel, and Reggae music.
“I have been working with a Nigerian producer called Presh of Luminos record he produced ‘Go Down Low’ which I released early this year,” he said. “And he has produced most of the tracks for my album.”
He said that 70% of the songs are produced by a Nigerian producer called Presh of Luminos Record and the remaining 30% will be produced by Sierra Leoneans, noting that he is working with Wilbert and Nashito Kulala from Sierra Leone.
A.Sank will be featuring various talented artists. “I’m the one managing myself for now but I got my team who are also big fans of my art and are ready to see me achieve my goals,” he said.
He disclosed that producing an album takes a lot of work, finances, time, and more, and he is always setting high standards for himself because he wants his album to be appreciated internationally.
A.Sank has released several singles. During his time in São Paulo, Brazil, he released a hit single in Portuguese Language titled: “Te Amo,” which translates in English as “I Love You,” featuring Jânio Vilar, a Brazilian producer & musician, and Joseph Healing, a Sierra Leonean singer based in the U.S.
Asank has won several awards in his musical career. In 2020, he won the Mercyme Global Foundation — Heroism Award.
A. Sank is a versatile artist who started as a dancehall artist, but his devotion to God and passion for the African signature genre have made him focus on all three genres in his forthcoming album. He can write and sing different genres of music.
He said, “I’m a strong believer in God Almighty though it might not look like that on the surface but deep down in me, I follow the gospel.”
He said his inspiration comes from God, noting that he captured gospel songs in his album to inspire others who believe in the higher power (God).
He said that his Afrobeat could be a little different from other Afrobeats because he created his own from the inspiration he receives from God rather than listening to trends and making music out of it.
